Every day people are carrying out good deeds so we decided to celebrate the great work that charities, community groups and campaigners do with a regular feature on Tuesdays, to tie-in with #CharityTuesday on social media.
Recently we caught up with Young at Art to find out more…
Where are you based and what geographical areas do you support people in?
We are based in Belfast – where the majority of our work happens, but we have a touring events agency that travels across the province.
How do you support people?
Providing arts experiences for children and young people in areas of deprivation – using creativity to develop communication skills and confidence.
How did the charity come to be founded?
Set up post Good Friday Agreement in 1998 to run an international arts festival helping children and young people look forward to a shared future through accessible and participatory arts experiences.
How many people do you have working at the charity?
9 staff
