Independent business: Paper Plane

We are Laura and Jack, a happily unmarried couple who live and work in Rutland, with our dog called Dog. Yes, that’s right, Dog. There are no limits to our imagination and creativity.

We design cards, gifts and bath and beauty products that we like to think have the right blend of humour, honesty and warmth.

Since launching Paper Plane in late 2014, the business has grown from a handful of Christmas cards, designed, stored and packed in our dining room, to more than 200 card designs and a full giftware range, designed, stored and packed in our studio, a former village shop and doctor’s surgery. Along the way we’ve sent out almost 100,000 orders to customers all over the world, acted as Etsy mentors and spoken at notonthehighstreet’s annual partner convention.

We have more than 200 stockists worldwide, including Urban Outfitters, Firebox, Paperchase and Oliver Bonas.
