What was the inspiration behind the album?
There are a lot of people who continuously have a tough time and keep things inside, but are too afraid to try ‘Therapy’ due to any negative stigma around it. The inspiration was to create awareness that they are not alone and that they can indeed release. During lockdown there were a lot of mental health cases and an increase of relationships deteriorating, including friendships, family relationships and romantic relationships. There had also been a lot of deaths and without being able to share feelings face to face some people kept it inside and continue to do so. I continue to shine light on many important topics such as mental health as well as the feelings that people may feel and too afraid to share. That’s what this album explores and there will be more releases coming up to explore real feelings that people may be afraid in sharing.
Did the pandemic have an impact when recording the album?
Yeah for sure. Both positive and negative. Timing, isolating, not going to the studio, and not being able to explore certain things as I love to write about new experiences. But that still gave me a lot to talk about without talking about the ‘Pandemic’ itself. So the impact was still influence. It also gave me time to slow down as well as learn a lot of new things and strengthen my skills. I learnt so much and was able to create a lot of material. I produced, wrote and recorded a lot of material and a lot that didn’t even make the release and some that won’t be released haha. I found it fun to totally produce another album.
How long did the album take to create from start to finish?
Not entirely sure as I just went with the flow, I never really focus on time just feeling. But I will say it was all done well before 2021 ended but wanted a break so decided to release it top of 2022.
Which track was written first?
Written… well I can say “Sure Thing” was written first. I wrote that track 10 years ago but re-recorded and produced it in 2021. Remembered the entire song and did it all in one take. It was fun.
Do you have any personal favourite tracks?
Nah, I love every single one!
Were any tracks difficult to write?
None at all were difficult. I just always go with my heart and with the flow!
What do you have coming up in the next 12 months?
I can’t say, just know it’s continuously getting bigger and better! 2022 is going to be a big and successful year! I’ll be posted up everywhere I guarantee! Here’s to more success!
