Who is in the band, how did you meet, where are you from and how did you come up with the name?
Andy Kulesza, Matt Shelton, Karl Robin Junga. It’s a corruption of a John Lennon lyric.
Who were your musical influences when you were growing up and who are your influences now?
Faaar too broad to highlight. We listen to classical, jazz, folk, dance, orban, drill, country, gregorian
chant, bajhans… anything good. One of our trademarks is we are very eclectic.
How would you describe your sound?
See above, but we’re more known for ‘downtempo’.
What is your latest release called and what was the influence behind it?
misti blu two, it’s a retake on a record we did in the noughties featuring Taka Boom with siblings Chaka Khan and Mark Stevens. There are currently seven mixes covering dark hiphop, chicago house (by Mark Bell of M People), Jazzperimental, Chilled house. The main mix is Rnb/funk.
What’s your local music scene like?
Big and fragmented.
What do you have planned for the next 12 months?
A collab release with Zoë Johnston (Above & Beyond, Faithless) plus other collabs.
Is there anyone you’d love to collaborate with?
Yes, the next person/band we collab with!
Any funny stories surrounding your live performances?
We did Top Of The Pops behind mdf cutout instruments and served blu cocktails from our decks at Pete Tong’s sunset headline in Ibiza as our ‘mixing’ set.
What is the one thing that you want readers to know about you?
We’re in this for the music, and wherever it takes us.
