What was the inspiration behind the album?
The album works around a central idea of how those three little words, “I love you,” are able to work themselves through, and entwine themselves into, almost every aspect of life, whether that be through learning to love yourself, falling in love, heartbreak, or loss. Hence the album title “Three Scarlet Words”.
Did the pandemic have an impact when recording the album?
No.
How long did the album take to create from start to finish?
2 years.
Which track was written first?
My Beautiful Pain.
Do you have any personal favourite tracks?
So Many Times and Just Passing Through.
Were any tracks difficult to write?
Another World – because I took a different approach to write this one, starting with loops on Logic Pro.
What do you have coming up in the next 12 months?
I have a single which I will be releasing in the next couple of months, which is a collaboration with an old friend of mine. I’m also aiming to release both an EP of old songs (that I wrote many years ago!) in the next 9 months, as well as an album of new songs in the next 12 months. It’s going to keep me majorly busy but I like it that way!
Genre: It is a combination of adult contemporary, singer songwriter, folk pop, and folk rock
Released: 26th July 2024
