What was the inspiration behind the album?
It’s a body written over two years of my life for the past two years during covid. Although the tracks on the album are not so similar in content, their common ground is the ability to imbue a plethora of differentiated meanings.
Did the pandemic have an impact when recording the album?
Immensely. The pandemic was when I actually started songwriting. It was great way to help me cope through the chaos and uncertainty of the time we were living in.
How long did the album take to create from start to finish?
The recording and production took around 5 months.
Which track was written first?
Nostalgia was the first song that was written. Arguably my most underrated too. I wrote when I was 13, essentially trying to make my self feel better about reminiscing memories without the person I experienced them with.
Do you have any personal favourite tracks?
That’s almost like asking a mother of quintuplets to choose her favourite child. Though, if I had to choose, Unjustified Feelings held my hand in the darkest places at the time. It still is one of the only songs that are pertinent to my life now, despite being in a better state of mind as an older teenager.
Were any tracks difficult to write?
The hardest, yet most fun, was Number 1. It’s written in a perspective that I could never picture myself in, A narcissist’s. While simultaneously writing a song about manipulation, I’ve seemingly managed to manipulate people into thinking it was a love song.
What do you have coming up in the next 12 months?
I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
