Every Monday we will be bringing you interviews with UK or Ireland artists for Independent Music Monday. Recently we caught up with London based band M.Nox to find out more…
Who is in the band, how did you meet, where are you from and how did you come up with the name?
The band consists of musicians who are already active in touring bands, including Mr. Ashley Guest, the former drummer of Benediction and current drummer of the German power metal band Stormhammer; our singer Mr. Manuel Nox (after whom the band is named M. Nox), who is also the frontman of Stormhammer; and Mr. Dan Rose, who takes on the role of guitarist in Anaal Nathrakh.
Our bassist, Mr. Edwin Sealey, and our guitarist, Mr. Spencer Jordan Conley from Los Angeles, California, complete the lineup.
We all first met in London before the project moved to the US, and now back to the UK, with the goal of touring Europe and the UK again following this release.
Who were your musical influences when you were growing up and who are your influences now?
Linkin Park
Queen
Avenged Sevenfold
Hans Zimmer
How would you describe your sound?
Cinematographic Hard Rock.
What is your latest release called and what was the influence behind it?
The song is called Last Chance, and it addresses what we hear every day in the news: that we must wake up and make a change if we don’t want to drown in wars, conflicts, and crises.
What’s your local music scene like?
It used to be very small, but now it is growing.
What do you have planned for the next 12 months?
Right after this album, we plan to tour the UK and Europe, and then hopefully move on to the next album while also playing a few festivals in 2026.
Is there anyone you’d love to collaborate with?
Definitely Avenged Sevenfold.
Any funny stories surrounding your live performances?
It’s always funny when we’re on tour. One of the funniest stories, I think, was when our singer jumped from the stage into the crowd mid-performance and couldn’t get back up because the stage was too high. There were around 1,500–2,000 people in the room when it happened.
Do you have any upcoming live dates and performances?
24th October in Germany.
What is the one thing that you want readers to know about you?
If you like Linkin Park, Hans Zimmer, and Avenged Sevenfold, and you’re wondering how that all fits together—then check it out!
